The Professional oboe reed without ears is made with the same -2 shaper tip. The difference is that it is made with a straight shaper, not with a foldable shaper like the reeds with ears. Meaning even though the shapers hold the same name, they actually are visually, and playing wise quite different. The shape without ears is very comfortable to play, and it is neither super wide, neither super narrow. It is comfortable to play in the orchestra and even solo works! The reeds are made with 46 Chiarugi staples. The reeds come in Soft, Medium and Hard strengths.
